Food allergens - CAV card references

What is CAV? CAV stands for consistency, Accuracy and Verifiable.

If you are selling food to the general public as caterer or supply food ingredients as supplier, from 13 December, 2014 all food businesses will need to provide information about 14 allergenic ingredients used in food sold or provided by you.

Food labels come in all sizes and shapes, to identify and record the information correctly is vital to food businesses. Food allergens cannot be removed by cooking, serving customers the food that they are allergic to can be life threatening.

CAV card is an open-source of references, food label information from manufacturers, distributors are consistent, accurate and have been verified. We created the references to help you to identify the allergen content in your everyday used ingredients to avoid making mistakes.
